"The Word of our God" Isaiah 40:1-8

Isaiah had just told them of the future captivity in Babylon and now the Lord has him proclaim a message of comfort. The Lord is faithful to all of His promises even in our rebellion. He foretells of the ministry of John the Baptist and the Messiah who will bring complete forgiveness. All of the glory of men is temporary but the Word of God stands forever.
