We should not be surprised when we see the sinful patterns of the unbeliever. They are living out of their sinful nature because they are alienated from the life of God. They have hardened their hearts to His gift of freedom and life. The believer, however, is to live a completely different life. We who are the beloved of God are still tempted but we are called to remind ourselves of who God has made us to be and allow Him to express through us the new nature He has birthed in us so that our lives are expressions of His life. This is what true holiness and righteousness look like. They look like Jesus!
