Jesus tells us very clearly that we are not suited to be judges. It doesn't mean that we abandon discernment but we refuse to put ourselves in the place of judging others. Most of our judging of others is a way of avoiding our own issues. Jesus calls those who have a log in their own eye trying to take out the splinter in others, hypocrites. Jesus is never able to do His work of transforming us as long as we are focused on other peoples problems. We really are no good to anyone unless we allow Him to do His transforming work in us.
