Despite the stubborn rebellion of Israel God continues to deal with them as children. Their rebellion was leading them on a path of bondage and heartache. At all times He continues to love, be gracious and merciful. God's love is expressed in His discipline of us. He loves us too much to leave us on a path of self-destruction and so He disciplines us out of love to prepare us to experience all He has for us.
