"Equipping the Saints" Ephesians 4:11-16

Not only is every believer gifted by God but we only come to maturity in the faith when we realize how interdependent we are as members of the body.  The ministry isn't what a few people do.  Every child of God has a ministry.  We gather so that the Pastor/Teacher can prepare us for the ministry.  The only way to protect ourselves from false teachers and doctrines is to know Christ fully.  We are called to speak truth in love.  Then our words will sound like Jesus.
