"Miserable Comforters" Job 15-17
"Miserable Comforters" Job 15-17
In this passage Job is accused of not fearing the Lord and yet God had declared to Satan that Job was one who feared the Lord and turned from evil. Job's friends were accusing him falsely and he felt the need to set the record straight. There is a lesson for us to learn, that we don't need to defend ourselves when we rest in our righteousness in Christ. We also need to remember that it isn't our responsibility to set everyone straight in trying to explain their suffering. We become miserable comforters when we try to define others sufferings and judging others. We are called to see our own suffering as tool to comfort others.
