This proverb reveals the stark contrast between the wicked and the righteous.  There's no middle ground you either love God and are righteous or you hate God and are evil.  We who are in Christ know that righteousness is a gift that we receive by faith in His finished work.  This frees to seek knowledge and wisdom as we pursue intimacy with the king and His kingdom.
