"The Two Shall Become One Flesh" Ephesian 5:28-33

We can't isolate these verses from there context.  The great responsibility is not on the woman submitting to her husband but on the husband loving his wife as he loves himself and as Christ loves His church.  Just as the husband and wife become one flesh, Jesus reminds us we are members of His body and are one with Him.
