"Brought Near By the Blood" Ephesians 2:11-13

We don't come to God because we are good people.  The scripture is clear that we were all alienated and separated from God. We who were born gentiles didn't have access to the covenant, neither were we citizens of Israel.  All of that changes when Christ comes with His perfect sacrifice and the shedding of blood.  When we entrust ourselves to Him and His perfect sacrifice we become the children of Abraham and the Israel of God by grace through faith.  He no longer requires a circumcision done by the hands of men but He Himself gives us a circumcision of the heart.  While we were once far off and separated from God we are now drawn close by His blood.  There is no more separation for we are in union with Him.
