"God's Covenant with David" 2 Samuel 7:1-17

King David was at peace having subdued his enemies and he is prospering in Jerusalem. His desire is to build a house to hold the Ark of the Covenant. It didn't seem right to him that he was living in beautiful home while the presence of God was in a tent. God prohibits David from building the Temple because he is a man who has shed much blood but God promises David that his son will build it and that his throne would be established forever.
