Missions

Faith Bible Church is BIG on Missions! Our hearts are huge for reaching others for Christ in our church, community, country and the world! We believe Missions is sharing His Heart, His Hands and His Voice. We welcome you to join us in the ADVENTURE! His Heart, His Hands, His Voice!

Christ Is Life Ministries

Christ Is Life Ministries (CILM) is a non-profit, non-denominational ministry. Bill Loveless is the director of the ministry. He was a commercial general contractor for 25 years before entering full-time ministry. The reason Bill went into ministry had everything to do with what God did to radically change his life.

Bill was saved at age 18, but for thirty years as a Christian, he wandered in a wilderness of spiritual performance for God trying to earn His love, acceptance and worth. He had severe internal struggles with fear, anxiety and worry that overcame him for most of those thirty years. His defeat in the Christian life got to a point that in 1998, while an elder at a former church, he told his wife, Paige he wanted out of the Christian life. He was spiritually exhausted. In late 1998, Ian Thomas, founder of Torchbearers, was invited to his church to speak. The first words he shared were:

“God never intended for you to live the life that only Christ can live in and through you.”

The Lord showed Bill through Ian Thomas’s words that he had been living much of his Christian life out of self-effort and self-sufficiency. He realized for the first time that God didn’t want to help us live the Christian life but He actually wants to be our Source for living the Christian life. This was such a transforming time for Bill that five months later God called Bill out of his business and eventually led him into full-time ministry with Exchanged Life Ministries Texas (ELMT) in Dallas. In October, 2003 the Lord called him and Paige out of ELMT to form Christ Is Life Ministries. They moved to San Antonio in April, 2004 and are now working with several churches in the area and throughout Texas.

Wayne Heaton-You Turn Ministry

God used an eight year battle with infertility to grow and mature Amy and I.  During this time God refined our faith and blessed us with two sons, Timothy and Samuel.  In 2015 God called me to our first mission trip to Malawi, Africa.  After going two more times, Amy joined me in the summer of 2017. It was on the plane after that trip that we both felt God calling us to missions full-time. In May of 2021 I graduated with a Masters in Theological Studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. While attending seminary our family started to pray about where God would have us serve.  With every prayer God confirmed two things: Malawi, Africa and taking the gospel where it has never gone.  In August of 2020 we accepted a self-supporting position with You Turn Ministries in Malawi, Africa as Church Plant Catalyst Missionaries. You Turn's motto is "reaching the lost in the last places".  Our family will oversee You Turn's church planting strategy in Malawi. This is done by village evangelism in conjunction with our Pastor Training schools. Partnering with the Baptist Convention of Malawi (BACOMA), You Turn has developed 6 Pastor Training Schools (PTS) in villages throughout Malawi. We help identify men that God has called to be pastors and equip them with seminary level training.  Upon graduating, these men will become pastors of the churches that will be planted. So every church that is planted has a biblically trained pastor to lead it. This model will lead to over 50 new churches being planted by the end of 2021!  And we have already seen some of the church plants planting other churches!

You Turn also has two Lighthouses, which are orphan care centers. Each year Malawi is listed in the top 5 poorest countries in the world and also as one of the countries with the highest orphan rates. Our two lighthouses help feed orphans both physically and spiritually. Each day the kids come to the Lighthouse and they are given a meal of msima, greens, and a protein. They spend time studying the bible, learning english, working on school work, and playing. This year we have also started some vocational training.  The girls are learning how to sew and the boys are learning how to farm. They love learning about Jesus, so they can tell others about the good news of the gospel!

Is there a way that you can help? Absolutely! There are three ways you can help: pray, give, and visit! Please pray for the work God is doing in Malawi, that the lost would hear the gospel, for all of the brothers and sisters in Malawi, for You Turn, and for our family. There is a link below if God leads you to give.  You can give though You Turn to help the Pastor Training Schools, our family, the Lighthouses, and more! Finally, we would love to SHOW you all that God is doing. So we would like to extend an invite to come visit and see all that God is doing here in Malawi, Africa!

Tommy And Kannika Tucker – Missionaries To Thailand

Thomas (Tommy) first arrived on the mission field of Thailand in March 1990 with church planting as the ministry objective. He was single and spent the first six years in Samut Sakorn an hour outside of Bangkok. In 1996 he moved to the northern province of Chiang Rai where he spent the next 17 years working with the hilltribes in the Golden Triangle. While there he invited Kannika who had graduated from Bible college to help in teaching the Christian men and women how to read and write so they could study the Bible and be leaders and teachers in the churches. During this time she also developed a ladies and children ministry. In September 2001, they were married. Their son was born in August 2005. In 2013 they moved to Bangkok to team up with a fellow missionary. Every ministry is focused toward church planting. From creating opportunities for witnessing to discipleship, and leadership training.

Sewing For The Nations

Faith Bible Church proudly participates in this amazing mission endeavor – sewing dresses and clothing for children in Kenya! With these dresses in hand, local Kenyan pastors have a valuable tool to get into villages to share the good news of Life in Jesus! Each dress sewn will be the first “new” item these children will ever receive in their lives.

"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Matt. 25:40

Are you interested in putting your sewing skills to use for those in need? We meet here in the church and our group makes simple clothing – dresses, shorts, skirts and shirts for children in Kenya. Please contact Gwen Zapata (210-884-4872) to learn more about our projects and a way that you can be a part. We have all the supplies and will even be happy to help you learn to sew if you are a beginner. You will be truly blessed.

David and Denise Love Ministries

David & Denise first went to the mission field in March 1983. For eleven years they ministered in Colombia, South America and twenty-eight years at Rio Grande Bible College, Edinburg, Texas.

Over the years they served in the following areas: dorm parents for 17 boys (missionary children) with Etnos 360 in Villavicencio, Colombia; Bible Institute teacher in Fusa and radio ministry; inductive Bible study trainers with Precept Ministries in Bogotá, counselors; church planters; youth ministry, and in National leadership development.

Currently, they are missionaries with Fellowship International Mission, in Allentown, Pennsylvania on loan to Rio Grande Bible Institute; a faith mission, serving on the Texas-Mexico border. David and Denise are full-time missionaries with RGBI.

The fall of 2011, David accepted the position of the Academic Dean of the Bible College. The RGBC is an accredited Bible College with the ABHE. It has a one year, two, and four-year program. It has a student body of around 120 with students coming from 15 different Latin American countries to study.

Since leaving Colombia in August 2002 the Loves have continued to develop a partnership ministry with the National pastors and missionaries they have trained over the years. There are now around 20 pastors and missionaries that are associated with this ministry working in the Amazon regions of Colombia, Brazil, and Peru. The nationals are doing the work of evangelizing tribal groups in difficult to reach areas. The Loves make trips back to Colombia to encourage and minister to the pastors, missionaries, and the believers living in remote areas. The Loves also make trips to Central Asia and beyond to help encourage the leaders living in high-risk areas.
