The Ark of the Lord had returned to Israel but still not to its proper place. Samuel calls the people to turn away from all of their idols and give themselves to the Lord exclusively. It was time for them to live free from the bondage of their enemies but they would only experience victory as they gave themselves over to the Lord the source of their victory.
