"Holy Ground" Exodus 3:1-6

Moses had spent 40 years shepherding the flock of his father-in-law. After murdering an Egyptian and fleeing into exile it would be easy for him to think he had missed his opportunity to be used of God. God rarely acts in the time frame we hope for but it is always the best. 40 years caring for sheep was all a part of God's plan to prepare Moses for a great calling. Even when we don't see it God is working. After 40 years the Lord gets Moses' attention through a fire in a bush that was not consumed. He has Moses remove his sandals for he is standing on holy ground. He was in the presence of God. Wherever God is that place is holy. We must never forget that in Christ we have been made holy for He lives in us. He is always preparing us to be greater expressions of His life.
