Samson gave himself over to satisfying the desires of the flesh. He made allowances for himself that were inconsistent with his calling as a servant of the Lord. He saw the power of the Lord deliver him from many difficult circumstances but he made the false assumption that there would be no consequences for his sin. When he finally gave into Delilah's pressure and his hair was cut the Philistines came upon him and he was powerless. They gouged out his eyes and treated him like an animal. When the Philistines gathered for a great celebration to honor their god. The Lord heard the prayer of Samson and allowed him to experience the power of the Lord and in his death, he killed more of the enemy than his life.
