"An Awesome Thing I Will Do With You" Exodus 34:10-17

While Moses is meeting with God on Mt. Sanai The Lord renews His covenant with Moses and Israel. He tells them He is going to do amazing things for them and destroy all of their enemies. All they were to do is obey His commands and when they conquered the land they were to destroy all the places of worship and make no covenant with any of the idolatrous people for His name is Jealous. He knew how seductive the false idols could be for the people and for this reason He warns them. As New Covenant children of God we too are to avoid all idolatry. We need to be intentional in making sure that nothing interferes with our worship of the Lord for He has placed His life in us to express His power, love and life through us.
