"David & Goliath" 1 Samuel 17
"David & Goliath" 1 Samuel 17
Author:

The armies of Israel and the Philistines were arrayed for battle. Amongst the Philistines was a man of huge size over 9 feet tall and wearing armor weighing over 150lbs. He came out and challenged Israel to send out there best and let it be a 1 on 1 fight and the winner was to rule over the loser. All of Israel was afraid. David was feeding the sheep and his father sent him with some provisions for his brothers and heard the insults of Goliath. He was taken back by the insults and challenge of Goliath against the armies of Israel and the living God. He volunteered to go forth to battle but not even Saul thought he could prevail. David had developed great confidence in the power of God to give him victory as a shepherd boy. He picked up 5 smooth stones and ran towards Goliath landing a stone that sunk into his forehead and then he took Goliath's sword and cut off his head. It reminds us that it is when we are weak that we have the strength of God.
